Tom Binger

Tom Binger finds it interesting that during a time in which the internet is quickly condign the preferred method of communication, billboards and signage are still one of the most effective forms of advertisement… If a person views a sign they will read information technology. He always finds himself turning his head as he passes a sign to come across the back equally if there was more to read; and often times he is rewarded by seeing the infrastructure that holds the sign up. Binger strives to modify the fine art viewers body linguistic communication and posture, by placing artwork in a gallery setting that forces people to view the backs and sides, and in some cases interact by having to plough a crank or push button a push; not unlike driving by a sign and turning to encounter the backside. His work addresses current issues such every bit gender, societal roles, politics, and religion through the cribbing of imagery from the past. The multimedia sculpture is reminiscent of mid 20th century signage. The nostalgic imagery achieves motion, sound, and light by being attached to highly crafted mechanical armatures.

I accept always liked creating artwork on a large scale. The process of taking a small object and doing it Large and Bold is so much fun to me and for my clients.  What inspires me the nearly is color in nature and the beauty that tin be found in everyday simple objects.  Colour makes me happy! I take a unique painting technique that I telephone call "MOSAIC PAINTING". I employ drywall mud to give texture to my lath and after painting the base color, I sketch my design in charcoal.  I mix my paint and with sponges in diverse simple shapes-circles & squares-I utilise my pigment.  I LOVE the thought of taking minor motifs and pigment them large with bold vibrant color! I bask letting the vivid colors and uncomplicated shapes transform the full painting into an interesting, textural piece of fine art that truly does resemble a mosaic.  Sometimes it takes another glance to see that the creation is simply paint.  I Honey the free energy that colour tin can bring!

Ruth Bukovac

SCULPTURAL POTTERY AND ART EDUCATOR My involvement in art began when I was five years old and has connected throughout my life. I attended the Academy of Kansas and received a BFA in Design/ceramics with a modest in Fine art History, a BAE in Art Education, and a Masters in designing and implementing art curriculum. My art teaching career started in 1979. I take taught every grade level including K-12, preschool, adults and college. I love instruction besides as creating my own works of art in clay.Creating sculptures and sculptural pottery that are decorative and functional are my passion.  Most of my pieces have been glazed several times to achieve my vision for that slice. Each piece is unique and a i of a kind. I love the process of Raku.  I use it equally often as I can to create cute and unusual surfaces on my piece of work.  Glazed and carved organic shapes is also a feature of my work. I electric current show my work and teach art classes at the First Art Gallery of Olathe.

joe bussell

In 1979 Joe Bussell received a BFA in Painting from Kansas University. From that time to the present Joe has lived in Boston, LA, Tucson, Omaha, St Louis, London and Kansas City. Forth with his art do he has finished two MFA's one in Painting and the other in Ceramics. Joe has been exhibiting his work for 37 years throughout the US, England and Italian republic.

Julia Cole

Multi-Disciplinary; Visual; public art

Julia Cole is an artist, an educator and a community strategist who lives and works in Kansas Urban center. She is part of a collaborative team that makes ecologically and community-oriented artwork for public spaces (http://colosser.com). Julia too works with the Charlotte Street Foundation (www.charlottestreet.org), teaches at KCAI, and builds creative partnerships around issues of affordable housing in Kansas Metropolis neighborhoods (https://dwdkc.wordpress.com/).

Michael Cross

Dick Daniels

Daniels worked as an illustrator at the Kansas City Star for five years and a humor menu artist for Hallmark for 25 years. Jackie Denning is a local of Kansas Urban center and has a degree from Thou.U. in material design. She has worked in New York, Florida and Los Angeles in the arts industry. She is currently making a torso of ceramics for the garden or to put plants in at Crane Grand Clay. Her items are for sale there as well. http://kcclay.com/ She will showroom the body of work in April in Brookside then in May at the Crane Grand studio evidence. Jackie has been making linoleum cuts of favorite landmarks since 2001. She started the Kansas City line in 2008 while homesick in Florida. They are a big K.c. favorite. She also did a series of Chicago and NYC buildings and Florida birds. She creates new images a few times a year. Constance Ehrlich

Constance Ehrlich graduated from the University of Kansas with a Masters of Fine Arts in painting. Since graduation, she has remained in Lawrence as a full- time artist. Ehrlich has exhibited her work in cities such as  Santa Iron, Chicago, Savannah, and Kansas City.

Ari Fish

LeRoy has been a practicing artist for fifteen years. He works with ceramic, sculpture, glass and metallic. Artistically, he is focused on the evolution of style, larger forms, sculpture, glazing techniques, and commercial production techniques. Some of LeRoy's contempo shows include Buttonwood and the UnPlaza Art Off-white. LeRoy is besides a regular presenter at the Plaza Fine art Fair with the KC Dirt Guild and teaches ceramic pottery throwing techniques at the Wornall Business firm summer camps. Cydney Ross

BIO Cydney Ross was built-in, raised and resides in Kansas Urban center, Missouri. She received her BFA in ceramics from the Kansas City Art Institute. Ross took an interest to compages as subject while traveling abroad to Kecskemét, Hungary at the International Ceramics Studio (ICS). She returned to the ICS during the summer of 2015 every bit an creative person in residence. Angelica Sandoval

Angelica Sandoval is a sculptor and designer whose installations defy the traditional conventional aspects of porcelain.  Sandoval's work revolves around the act of synthesizing materials and space in conjunction with light.  Sandoval was awarded the Arts KC Inspiration Grant in 2012 and again in 2014 toward an installation in the Historic Power & Light Building. Sandoval was a resident of the Charlotte Street Foundation Urban Civilisation Projection Studio Residency Program 2011-2012 and did a summer residency in 2009 at Casa Marles in Llorenc del Peneds, Spain.  Angelica Sandoval received a BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute and a Main's caste from Cranbrook University of Art.  She has taught at the Kansas Metropolis Art Found, Avila University and currently teaches at Johnson County Customs College.

Ross Schartel

Ceramist and Art Historian Ross Schartel living and working in Kansas Metropolis. Graduating from Pittsburg Country University in 2014 with a caste in history and a minor in art, Schartel is currently researching the work of mid-century color theorist and painter Robert Clark Nelson. Schartel works in a variety of mediums including sculpture, ceramics, and cobweb. Schartel's ceramics focuses on working through quarter-life crunch fears, monetary curt-comings, imminent threats of decease, and the ideas of being forgotten, through functional pottery and sculpture.

Kyle Selley

Kyle Selley (b. 1992) is a Kansas City-based artist all-time known for his Firework Rest Paintings which explore ideas surrounding nostalgia, spirituality, and the sublime. KC Studio Magazine has referred to his flatwork equally "naturally celestial" and "suggestive of infinite space." Selley builds composition playfully and intuitively, reminiscent of abstract expressionism and artists such as Jackson Pollock and Wassily Kandinsky. He references artist Cai Guo-Qiang, just his materials and processes are entirely different. Selley's Firework Art utilizes mediums such as videography, digital imagery, functioning, ceramics, works on paper, works on canvas, and works on glass/plexiglass. His work fix a new precedent in artistic techniques incorporating firework residue. Selley has been nourishing a relationship with fireworks since early on babyhood. He was using them in creative and experimentative ways long before he felt compelled to create traditional artwork. Selley is currently represented by SNW Gallery in Manhattan, Kansas, and sponsored by Dominator Fireworks in Beijing, China. He graduated from Johnson County Customs College with an Associate of Arts degree, studied sculpture and ceramics at the University of Tasmania, and graduated from the Kansas City Fine art Institute with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.

Melynda Steward

Her ceramic sculptures have been published in the September 2015 issue of Ceramics Monthly, page #41 article/ From Idea to Finished Form contest-winners-2015, 500 Figures in Clay Vol.#2, 2014, and Ceramic Sculpture, Making Faces, 2014 She is exhibiting at #BlueGallery in Kansas City, Missouri and at The JRB Fine art Gallery in Oklahoma Urban center, Oklahoma. Bernadette has exhibited at The University of Houston Clear Lake Gallery in Houston TX. Bernadette is one of twelve ceramic artists to collect in KC Studio magazine Gallery of KC Ceramics, feature in March/April 2016 issue. Bernadette'south ceramics are in many private collections in Missouri, Texas, Oklahoma City and New York and in the permanent (NMOCA) collection at the Nerman Museum of Gimmicky Art in Overland Park Kansas.

Tanya VanDillen

VanDillen explores several subject matters in her work, a torso which currently includes the cosmos, the ocean, and music. While these things may seem unconnected at a starting time glance, they all have one affair in mutual – they bring people together. VanDillen is fascinated past the power of these subjects to transcend cultural and social boundaries, and create unity. Her intention with these works is to capture the essence of exactly what draws us together, and to recreate that feeling in the viewer. In this way, the art becomes its ain channel for creating a bond among viewers, just as music does for lis- teners, the bounding main does for surfers, and the cosmos does for dreamers. VanDillen was raised in Satellite Beach, FL, Graduated with a BFA in studio fine art from Chapman University in Orange, CA, and currently resides in the Kansas City metro area.

Desiree Warren

Short version: Country girl goes to higher, gets a degree in sculpture, moves to The Large City, makes fine art out of stuff she finds. Longer version: I grew up in Ottawa, Kansas, and and so moved to Lawrence in 2001 to pursue a BFA in Sculpture and got a minor in Art History along the way.  In 2006 I moved to Midtown, KCMO.  At school I discovered street sign vinyl and aluminum and take incorporated aspects of those materials into my work e'er since. I have many bodies of work, including figurative and abstract pieces made of 100% salvaged materials, often establish in Dumpsters around town or on my family unit farms (both large wooden wall pieces and smaller, found-paper-ephemera collages).  In 2016 I joined the KC Clay Guild and fiddle in ceramics, enjoying getting dorsum in touch with my 3D roots.  Most recently I've found some recognition with my "Orzo" series fabricated of aluminum, vinyl, and paint, and through Jan 2018 will have work at the Kemper Museum of Art in the Women to Watch | Metals show with four other local women.  I've traveled the art fair excursion regionally and have participated in group gallery shows nationwide. I'k a cat lover and am e'er in pursuit of a practiced cone of ice cream.
